The MG1 Neuro Performance Centre is a state-of-the-art training facility in Long Eaton, Nottingham, focussed on developing the Visual, Mental and Cognitive Skills of athletes ranging from junior to professional level. The multi-functional centre provides 1-2-1 training opportunities for athletes looking to gain a distinct advantage over their competition, alongside independent training and exciting group training sessions.

1-1 Coaching

1-1 Coaching in the MG1 Neuro Performance Centre is delivered by our Head Coach and Founder, Colin Booth. Colin has worked in elite sport for several years, helping to develop key skills in athletes such as decision-making, scanning, reaction speed, body/eye coordination and lots more. All 1-1 sessions are focussed on the specific sport of the athlete training. We ensure every athlete trains with the intention of seeing the maximum impact on their in-game performances. Ever wondered why some athletes seem to have more time on the ball? Or can make passes that no-one else seems to see? Well, that’s what Neuro Performance Training gives you - by training your brain to be more efficient in the information it collates, be quicker in the processing of that information and ultimately, be faster and more accurate in the decisions we execute.

The VR Lab

Dive into virtual training experiences that are specifically designed to sharpen your decision making, enhance reaction times, and master cognitive abilities that define sports excellence. In the MG1 Performance Centre we provide VR training tools that ensure you think faster, react quicker, and play smarter. We have 3 VR programs available for users:

Sense Arena VR - The Ice Hockey goaltending program where you can face shots, practice drills, improve puck tracking and so much more!
Be Your Best - The VR football app to improve your vision, decision making, & cognitive skills
Reflexion Go - VR Training for ALL ATHLETES looking to take their game to the next level with a range of games designed to develop reaction speed, decision-making, tracking and much more!

The VR Lab is bookable in 30-minute windows, allowing you to choose which program you want to use for your training. Training can be streamed live to one of our iPads, meaning parents can see exactly how their child is performing. Should you want to extend your stay, please feel free to book back-to-back slots.

The Reaction Lab

In the Reaction Lab, you can work independently through one of our 20-plus training drills designed to develop key Neuro Performance skills such as scanning, decision-making, balance, reaction speed, information processing and so much more! Whether you want to complete the drills of the week, or choose your own, there is all the equipment needed to develop key cognitive perceptual skills at your own pace. Each drill is clearly explained, with video support for those wanting to see it in action. Our staff are on hand to support you as needed to ensure you get the most benefit possible from your time in the Reaction Lab. The Reaction Lab is bookable in 30-minute training slots, giving it the flexibility to be added to any other Lab or 1-1 sessions to maximise the results from your visit.

The Recovery Lab

Recharging your mind and body are key for elite performance and in the Recovery Lab you can do just that. You can experience the ultimate in recovery and relaxation in the MG1 Recovery Lab which includes a fully reclining massage chair, alongside compression boots designed to reduce swelling and stiffness, improve blood flow and improve muscle recovery. It’s the perfect place to relax and recover - you can even put our PlayStation 4 on and spend your time recharging your muscles whilst playing video games. You can also recharge your mind by using our incredible Neuro Training programs, NeuroTracker and FocusCalm. FocusCalm uses EEG technology to measure brain activity and a variety of games, exercises and meditations to help improve your ability to focus and relax your mind. NeuroTracker is the world’s leading cognitive training tool shown to enhance brain function. It has been scientifically shown to boost a wide range of brain functions, enhance mental processing speed, working memory, executive functions and much more. The Recovery Lab gives you a super flexible space to rest and recover your body and mind and is bookable in 30-minute training slots, giving it the flexibility to be added to any other Lab or 1-1 sessions to maximise the results from your visit.

Mind Games

4 Athletes.
2 Teams.
1 Winning Team. Mind Games is a group training session for 4 athletes that focusses on adding fun and competition to your training. The 60-minute session sees two athletes working together to outscore their opponents in a variety of Cognitive Perceptual challenges to win the coveted Tag Team Titles! All you need to do is book onto a session - We’ll allocate the teams and then the Mind Games can commence!

The MG1 Cognition Cup

Our second group training session is the MG1 Cognition Cup - A 5-person, individual competition to score the most points possible from a range of cognitive perceptual challenges to be the highest scorer and lift the Cup! This 90-minute session allows you work individually against 4 competitors on a range of challenges, trying to out-perform your completion. Points are allocated based on performance in each challenge, with the highest point scorer at the end of the session getting to lift the cup and earn their place on our wall of fame! Whether you’re a regular trainer at the MG1 Neuro Performance Centre, or a first timer wanting to come and see what it’s about, everyone is welcome to take part and compete for the Cognition Cup!

Memberships

The MG1 Neuro Performance Centre is open to ALL athletes to train in. For athletes wanting to train regularly in the centre, we offer a range of membership packages which provide a more cost-effective solution to training with us. Membership packages are available solely for Lab use, or to include 1-1 training and Lab use for a more fully comprehensive training program. Please note: Memberships have no minimum term and can be cancelled at any time.
