PART 1 – Focussing on Process
Sport is driven by outcomes, but focussing on outcomes takes us down a path where we are focussing on areas that are not solely in our control. Learn to harness the power of process and the outcomes will take care of themselves.
PART 2 – The Fear Conundrum
Did you know that the brain struggles to differentiate between perceived and actual fear? Those anxious thoughts are holding you back so much that you might as well be playing with a gun to your head. Learn how managing your thoughts can reduce the fear in your game!
PART 3 – Why Mindset Matters
Mindset is your perception – It is how you see the world. Every event that happens can be perceived in different ways. In part 3, we look at why understanding you can't control events, but can control responses is critical for getting the outcomes you want.
PART 4 – Signal Lights and the 3R's
Just like traffic lights, your mental state can be green, yellow, or red during performance. And just like driving a car, if you run too many yellow or red lights, you are going to crash and burn. Learn how to identify your signal lights and have a plan in place to recognise and reset them during performance.
PART 5 – Time to get the telescope out
A goal without a plan is just a wish. If you are serious about maximising your potential and becoming the best version of you, then you need to start planning. In this session we learn the importance of goal setting and how to reverse-engineer those big goals we have into daily, achievable outcomes.
PART 6 – Elite Recovery
Often referred to as the missing link in performance, being able to rest and recharge properly is fundamental for athletes wanting to perform at their maximum week in, week out. Learn how to proactively focus on your rest and recovery and why it is so important for elite performance.
PART 7 – The power of routine and habits
Habits can be tough to break – How many habits do you currently have that are working against your plans for elite performance? Learn all about how the habit loop really works and develop the skills to not only replace unhelpful habits with better ones, but also how to ensure you have the routine and structure to stick to the plans you make.
PART 8 – Being the best version of you
Everything is so much easier when you truly understand your why. Why do you put yourself through all the work, effort, and sacrifice? Knowing and remembering your why will help you maintain the motivation and commitment to keep pushing through adversity in your pursuit of excellent. In this session we'll also fall back in love with the word ‘discipline'!
"I can thoroughly recommend the Mental Performance Mastery course to anyone of any age and the younger that players can be given these tools to help them manage situations and the pressures of sport and general life the better. The course content is excellent and is professionally delivered by Colin. My team has certainly got a lot out of it".

"Loving the Mental Performance Mastery Course with Sheffield Thunder! Head and feet in the same place and play in the moment were the key takeaways from Week 1.
I learnt some stuff too – it's not only for the kids! Fab course. I think Elliott (and Cole) will take a lot out of this and be able to apply it in any situation – not just Hockey, but life too"
